ABOUT
السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته
May you all be in the best of imaan and taqwa of Allah and we pray that you and your family are in the best of health. Aameen.
We would like to thank you for your interest in Al-Furqan Academy. We will provide you with some basic details about us and should you be interested, you can follow up later with an appointment, in shaa Allaah.
WHO WE ARE
Al-Furqan Academy is committed to helping improve the Islamic landscape in Malaysia by empowering people with the right knowledge of Tajweed and the Arabic language. Dedicated to inspiring and producing new generations of lovers and teachers of the Qur’aan, the academy holds a variety of classes for all walks of life and age groups, including sponsoring the education of new muslims.
WHAT WE TEACH
For children, we have a few categories to choose from:
- Iqra’ for children – This is for children who do not have any basics in recitation at all. We open our classes to children aged 6 years old and up.
- Tilaawah for children – This class is for children who can already recite the Qur’aan but may not be too confident or smooth in their recitation. This is further divided into 2 levels. We are dedicated to bringing your children up to speed in their confidence and we will correct their pronunciation, characteristics of the letters as well as their tajweed rulings.
- Hifdh for children/teens – This programme comes in full time or part time. Children who already recite smoothly are eligible for this course. We have weekday and weekend classes to choose from.
- Arabic for children – This starts the children off on their journey in understanding the chosen language of Allah. The classes are light and fun and they will start to pick up some words from the Qur’aan.
For adults, we also have a few categories to choose from:
- Tajweed from the basics – This class is open to everyone, whether or not you can already read the Qur’aan. For those who can already read, it is a relearning of what you already know, to check whether or not what you learnt in your childhood is correct. For those of you who don’t as yet know how to recite, this course eases you into learning the recitation, starting from knowing the names of the letters.
- Tilaawah – A recitation class for adults, with classes divided by gender. Several slots to choose from.
- Arabic – A duty of every muslim to learn the language of the Qur’aan, beginning from the basics.
CLASS DAYS AND TERM TIME
As we are an “extra curricular” activity, our terms are loosely divided into 3 terms per year. The start of any given term can be in any third of the year, depending on the number of students available to open a class (minimum 6 to a class). We have weekday and weekend classes for you to choose from.

WHAT WE PROVIDE
The centre provides some learning aids for the children, but there will be books that parents will need to purchase. Adults will need to purchase a copy of the centre’s Understanding Tajweed book. All masaahif (Qur’aan) that is needed by the student needs to be purchased by all the students.
ASSESSMENTS
ASSESSMENTS
If you are interested to enroll your child but are still unsure about the courses, please fill up these details in this form and send them back to us.
As we do not know the level in which you/your child is in, we will need to arrange for assessments by one of the teachers. The admin will arrange for an amicable time for the both of you, in shaa Allah.
FEES
Please find attached the fee structure. Our fees are termly so once you have registered with us, the commitment is for 4 months. Should you want to pull out during term time, the full fee is still due to us. Any disputes or matters regarding this must be taken up with the Principal.
COVID-19 RESPONSE
As we are now living in the covid era, all our classes are moved online. It is not the ideal situation for young children especially but this is what we have right now. AlhamduLillah for everything. Do take note that we strictly abide by government directives and we will not move back onsite until we are allowed to do so by the government.
There are slight adjustments to the learning duration, as young children are unable to stay focused for long periods (and should not ideally be in front of a screen). There will be time slots for some classes so that the children are not left waiting for long periods. The children still, however, get breaks although it is usually 5 minutes.
